the last mix i made — the saddest mixtape of all time — was pretty much the best mixtape i have ever made in my entire life, but it also nearly killed me. so, to kick off the new year, i have made a brand new mix with lots of music that is new to me and some that is not so new but still really good, and it's mostly all upbeat and fun and more than a little dance-worthy.
while i didn't set out to make a drummy set, there ended up being lots of drums and interesting rhythms on this mix, crafty beats, and the penultimate song is by my very favourite chick drummer of all time, so there's that. is there anything sexier than a chick drummer? the drums and rhythms carry you most of the way through the mix until they are abandoned about 4/5's the way through and replaced by lots of atmosphere.
my favourite line of the whole mix is "i've seen her naked! twice!" listen for it.
